    Wearing Comfortable Shoes Trick-or-Treating

    Published on October 27th, 2018

It’s that time of year again! Whether you have kids of your own that you need to help walk around the neighborhood or you’re handing out candy in your home, it is important to take care of your feet on Halloween. A seemingly short walk around the neighborhood with your child may turn into hours of being on your feet. Being prepared for trick or treating is important for not only you but your children as well! Here are some tips on how to make the night successful.

    Wear Supportive Shoes

It’s tempting to wear shoes that work well with your costume, but if you wear uncomfortable and unsupportive shoes, you’ll pay for it in the long run. Make sure to pick tennis shoes or another pair of shoes that are supportive. Consider using insoles to help add more support as well. If you are going to be walking with your child, pick shoes that you know won’t cause blisters.

    Wear Socks

The night of Halloween will likely feature chilly temperatures. Not only will wearing socks help keep your feet warm, but it will also ensure that your shoes cannot rub uncomfortably against your toes or your heels and cause blisters.

    Wear Weather-Resistant Shoes

Kids love to go trick or treating, rain or shine. If it’s raining or rain is in the forecast, spray your shoes with a weather-protectant spray, or opt for a pair of shoes that are naturally waterproof. The last thing you want is to ruin a pair of perfectly good shoes!
