The Importance of Protecting Your Feet at the Beach

    Published on July 9th, 2018

Going to the beach is a great time to make memories with family and friends. But it is important to take the proper precautions to make sure that your feet are protected along the way. As summer is an especially popular time to hit the beach, here’s what you need to know about foot protection before your next beach visit!

    Wear Protective Shoes

The harder the sand, the more protective your footwear should be. Keep in mind that you will likely have to walk on the pavement to get from your car to the beach as well, so it is important to wear protective footwear during this time as well. Remember that the sand will be hot, so shoes will provide protection against burns.

    Wear Sunscreen

Make sure your feet are covered in sunscreen when you are putting it on. Many people forget to put sunscreen on their feet, which can result is some seriously painful burns. If you get into the water, make sure to re-apply sunscreen to all parts of your body, your feet included.

    Pack Shoes for the Water

While you’re in the water, consider wearing a pair of protective shoes to avoid scrapes and other puncture wounds. If you do have a cut, make sure it is not exposed to the saltwater, as it might allow for unwanted bacteria to enter your wound.
