Digital X-rays
X-rays are radiographic images that are helpful in identifying injury, deformity, and disease of bones and soft tissues of the body. Digital x-rays are available in our office to provide immediate images and diagnoses for patients. They are also used to compare pre-operative and post-operative outcomes and monitor healing after surgery and fractures.
Common conditions for which x-rays are taken include:
- Fractures
- Flat Feet
- Arthritis, Gouty arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis
- Bunion and Hammer Toe Deformities
- Bone Spurs
- Pediatric Growth Plate Injury or Abnormality
- Foreign Bodies/Objects (metal or glass under the skin)
- Bone Infection
X-rays are not as effective when diagnosing conditions of soft tissue such as cartilage, tendons, and ligaments, therefore, an MRI may be prescribed by your podiatrist.
